Reminders for Parking at Taft Coliseum

Hi everyone,

Here are some reminders from Chiller Ice Rinks staff as we gear-up for opening Taft Coliseum and the main part of the ice hockey season.

Parking Pass – Typically the Fairgrounds will not be asking for it during the week but on weekends you’ll need to have one. 2024-25 Passes can be found on the MY Role Tab.  Passes are not valid during tournaments so if you participate in the January Hockey Time tournament, you will have to pay then.

Parking Change:  due to some changes, rink parking will now be on the South side of Taft Coliseum, and you will enter through the south, box office entrance.  The side where we used to park will not be available this season.

Traffic: On weekends the Fairgrounds will host a lot of events at various buildings.  Traffic getting in can be difficult so it’s always good to allow extra arrival time.

The sound system will be available again this year for making announcements and playing music during games.

Finally and most importantly:  There have been issues with teams damaging the facility each season.  Issues range from soccer balls breaking ceiling tiles, pucks being shot and chipping walls, writing on the glass, breaking things in the locker rooms.  When issues are found, teams will be invoiced for any damage and continued issues may result in loss of access to the rooms or even ice time.

Reach out to Jeremy Rogers with Chiller Staff, if you have questions about any of this. Thanks for your help communicating the above to everyone in your organization and let’s make it a great season at the Taft!
