Manager Requirements: 

  • All teams must have a manager registered with USA Hockey and listed on the roster
  • Current Mid-Am background screen
  • Current SafeSport certification
  • Current State required concussion certification
  • OSHL Code of Conduct form
  • COVID-19 course
  • Detailed steps:
    • Step 1: Register with USA Hockey as a volunteer. This is an annual registration process, but it is free. Once complete, the confirmation number must be submitted to the Registrar.

      Step 2:  Go through the Mid-Am background screening process. Once complete, the approval letter must be submitted to the Registrar. Background screens must be completed every two (2) years.

      Step 3:  Take the NFHS Concussion Course and submit the completion certificate to the Director of Coaches. The Concussion Course must be completed every three (3) years.

      Step 4:  Take the USA Hockey Safe Sport Program and submit your completion certificate to the Registrar. Safe Sport must be renewed every two (2) years by either re-taking the entire Safe Sport Program or participating in a thirty (30) minute, online renewal course.

Game Rosters:

  • Each team may roster up to eighteen (18) skaters and two (2) goalies on the official game score sheet.  
  • Only four (4) coaches or staff are permitted on the game bench, regardless of how many a team may have on their Certified Team Roster.
  • It is the responsibility of the HOME TEAM to get all players/coaches names on the score sheet, as well as the name of the AT assigned to the game. (The AT must be on the bench during the game).
  • The names of players who are serving a game suspension need to be written on the bottom of the score sheet.
  • Any player who is on the bench but not dressed, must where a helmet. 

League Stats:

  • All game scoresheets are the responsibility of the HOME team to complete and file after games.
  •  The HOME team is responsible to make sure the name(s) of the AT and the referees are written on the Scoresheet and are legible. The score sheet must be signed by the referees at the conclusion of the game.
  • All information from the Official Scoresheet for all league games (including League Exhibition games) must be entered onto the League website by the HOME team representative within 24 hours.
  •  The team’s representative must immediately notify Tom Johnson by email when any player and/or coach receives misconduct points. Email notification should be made on the game day when the misconduct occurred.
