All teams must supply the League Scheduler with the name, phone number and email address of the team contact(s) that may request games to be cancelled or moved. This information is needed before October 15 of current year.

  1. League Scheduler will request all referees for all regular season games and home scrimmages (except Athens and Dayton HOME games) ANDATs for all regular season games and scrimmages (except Dayton.)  
  2. There are currently no League Exhibition Varsity games scheduled.
  3. Whenever a USA Hockey registered team plays a non-USA Hockey registered team (National Federation High School Association team), a Game Sanction form needs to be filed with Mid-Am. The League Scheduler will file the proper documents needed to cover all tournament games  for the participating OSHL team(s).
  4. For scrimmages played with a NFHSA team, the Team Scheduler will be responsible to file the necessary forms with Mid-Am. (Forms available on OSHL website that are sent with sanctioned team’s insurance forms.)

OSHL Cancellation Policy and Procedure
The League Scheduler is the person responsible to cancel and league game. The League Scheduler is responsible to communicate changes or cancellations to the team schedulers, referees and ATs.

SUMMARY

  1. In order to cancel ice without a charge, the League Scheduler must notify the rink thirty days before the scheduled game.
  2. No game will be played without two referees and an AT present.
  3. The League Scheduler will notify the League President and all affected parties of the outcome, including any costs accrued from a game cancellation within twenty-four hours.
  4. Official scoresheets for a canceled games must be emailed to Tom Johnson.

Weather Related Cancellation - Usually follows the rink cancellation policy. However, if it appears a team's safety may be in jeopardy should the weather turn worse prior to the game, the team may request the game be cancelled. In this case, the following will be determined by the League Scheduler:

  • Team Canceled - The team requesting the game be cancelled and rescheduled will be responsible for the cost of ice, referees, and AT if there is a disagreement between the League Scheduler and canceling team.
  • League Canceled - The League will cover the costs of the canceled game and the rescheduled game.

Non-Weather Related Cancellation - The team requesting the game to be rescheduled must contact the League Scheduler. The League Scheduler will determine if the game can be rescheduled. If so, the team requesting the reschedule will be responsible for the costs of the newly scheduled game. If the game cannot be rescheduled the the requesting games will be issued a forfeit.

No Referee or AT Cancellation - In either case the League Scheduler must be notified of the situation before the game can begin play. If the game is cancelled, game costs will not be incurred by either team.
